Bill Slough: Tarpon caught on a jetty on the Texas Coast.On Saturday, August 11th, we will try another overnight stay on the North Jetty at Port Aransas. Unlike previous outings, this will occur on the new moon, meaning there will be no moon at all. There is still a lot of reflected light from Port Aransas, but you won't be able to walk around with out lights like you frequently can on the full moon. In addition to head lamps, it helps to have a larger flashlight. If the only one you have is round, tie a cross piece to the butt to keep it from rolling off the rocks.
