August 21 Chapter Meeting - Ken Milam on Striper Fishing

Event Date/Time:
August 21, 2007 - 7:00pm

Ken Milam with StriperKen Milam with StriperBy Lloyd Mathews
Our speaker for August is Ken Milam; his presentation will include information about Lake Buchanan and tips on catching stripers. Ken began guiding for Striped Bass on Lake Buchanan in 1982 and has continued to guide exclusively on Lake Buchanan year round ever since. During this time, Ken Milam Guide Service has become this lake's only full service guiding outfit, offering the best guides and most convenience.
Most of us know about Lake Buchanan from fishing the Colorado River above the lake for White Bass. A detailed chapter in Bud Priddy’s book “Fly Fishing the Texas Hill Country” describes fishing the Colorado above the lake and also fishing the tail-race below the dam. The area is also home to many Bald Eagles that nest in the parks around the lake.
It should be an informative and interesting evening and Lake Buchanan is great trip for the whole family whether just for sight seeing or fishing. Be sure to visit Ken’s website at www.Striperfever.com and check out the recent Striper catch.
